I am fascinated by the manipulation of pattern using commercial fabrics. Much of my work is quilting traditionally a women's activity. I often explore ways to interpret historical quilt patterns using contemporary fabric and bold graphic design. Recently I have been embroidering re-purposed medical supplies as I examine the problems of our time in the context of my family history. The majority of my work is topical in an attempt to stimulate thought and discussion
